An ordinary 100-Watt incandescent bulbs lasts about 1000 hours and provides 1200-1500 lumen. Its energy efficiency rating is 5-8%, which means the majority of the energy it consumes is heat, not light. The LED PAR-38 bulb, on the other hand, is a 20-Watt bulb (LED output is 18 Watt), lasts about 50,000 hours, and is solid-state, which means no vacuum and no filament. By choosing to replace all your incandescents with PAR-38s, not only will you save 90% of your lighting expenses, but you may never have to change a light bulb again!
