The Chicago LED PAR-30: Now Featuring the XB-D

We wanted to give you a formal introduction to the Chicago 2.0, our newest PAR-30 LED light bulb designed and built in the USA. A dimmable 8 Watt replacement for a 75 Watt halogen flood light, the Chicago 2.0 LED bulb follows the same basic form and function as its predecessor.

Whereas the original Chicago was built with the efficacy barrier-breaking Cree XP-G LED, the 2.0 features this year’s XB-D. The XB-D is the newest breakthrough in Cree’s line of chips designed for directional lights – like PAR lamps. It boasts the same light quality and efficiency as the XP-G, yet comes with a 48% smaller footprint.

Advancements in silicon carbide technology have driven the price of the XB-D chip, which is how we’re able to further reduce the price of this premium quality LED PAR-30. The Chicago 2.0 is $44 per unit, and that price goes down significantly for large quantity orders.
