The Project
With a prime location just two miles from The District of Columbia’s Reagan National Airport, the newly renovated Crowne Plaza Alexandria Hotel regularly holds soirees and meetings for statesmen and businessmen. The largest of the hotel’s six fully-equipped assembly spaces is a 600-seat, theater-style convention room stocked with the latest LCD projectors, DVD systems, and wireless microphones.
An elegant lobby, 24-hour business center, health and fitness center, and full catering service spoils patriotic guests accustomed to White House-level amenities, and is only minutes away from Alexandria’s revitalized waterfront.
LED*Waves’ Involvement
LED*Waves provided Crowne Plaza Alexandria Hotel with white Amazon LED bars that backlit the marble-patterned panels with the breathtaking glow of several full moons, a calming treat for travelers weary from cross-country red-eyes and crazy cabbies with NASCAR aspirations.
With this type of subtle and sophisticated lobby lighting, LEDs’ low-heat and even beams spread waterfalls of lumens uniformly and tranquilly across the translucent panels. Little lighted rivers emerge on the glowing panel surfaces, further completing the soothing LED display. This provides a pointed contrast to the secondary panels behind the counter, which were lit by more traditional fluorescent tubes.
In this direct bout of Lighting Titans, LEDs emerge as the reigning Champion of Hospitality, with smooth and silky hooks courtesy of LED*Waves.
